On our pages you will regularly read about roles within (((eTicket Germany. We are application publishers - although we do not programme apps. Transport companies can be service providers and customer contract partners.
Transport associations are usually product managers. And then, of course, there are the passengers in the customer role.
You can find out how all of this is connected and who fulfils which function here.
Four actors of the role model at a glance
In this role model, there is the passenger who uses a user medium such as a chip card or a smartphone with an app that serves as the carrier of the VDV core application. This user medium or app is issued by the customer contract partner (CCP). As a rule, the KVP is the local transport company that sells the tickets and concludes subscription contracts with the passengers.
This KVP can outsource its transport contract to a service provider (DL) , which provides the transport service on behalf of the KVP and checks tickets (on the user medium). A transport company can take on the role of both service provider and customer contract partner.
The ticket prices - specifically: the various fare products - are determined by the so-called product manager (PP). As a rule, the PV is a transport association that defines fares for the transport companies belonging to it and lays down the formal rules for ticket control.
In this model, the VDV eTicket Service takes on the role of the application publisher (AH) . It defines the technical rules in the overall system, issues the specifications, registers participating transport companies and certifies components from manufacturers and software developers. It also provides the security system.
